Planting Roots of Remembrance: The Memorial Tree Program

At Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Home, we understand the importance of preserving memories and honoring lives in meaningful ways. Our web based Memorial Tree Program offers families and friends a unique and lasting tribute that not only commemorates a life but also helps heal the Earth.

A Living Tribute with Lasting Impact

When you choose to have a memorial tree planted, you do more than place a tree in the ground. You are symbolically extending a legacy and creating a greener, healthier world. Each memorial tree represents a living legacy, a growing testament to the love and memory shared with those who have passed on.

A new memorial tree will be planted in memory in the area of greatest need, as determined by American Forests and their network of forestry partners throughout North America. Each donation includes:

  • A memorial tree planted in your loved one’s honor

  • An official certificate of recognition, included with your email receipt

  • The purchaser's name listed on the tribute wall of the loved one’s online memorial

Trees That Heal and Help

Through our partnership with American Forests and their American ReLeaf program, we can plant a diverse selection of trees in critically needed reforestation zones across North America. These include:

  • Ponderosa Pine

  • Red Spruce

  • Long Leaf Pine

  • Jack Pine

  • White Bark Pine

  • Thornscrub

  • White Oak

These trees are planted in areas affected by wildfire, pests, disease, and environmental degradation, helping to restore forest ecosystems and create a better future for generations to come.

Why a Memorial Tree?

In today's world of growing environmental challenges, planting a memorial tree is a powerful and thoughtful way to honor someone’s life. It's a gesture of hope, growth, and healing—a way to embed a cherished memory into the very fabric of our planet. The Memorial Tree Program offers a sustainable and deeply personal alternative to traditional remembrances while actively supporting the fight against climate change.

About American Forests

American Forests has been a leader in forest conservation for over a century. Their American ReLeaf program has planted over 65 million trees in the last 30 years, working tirelessly across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to restore damaged forests and protect existing ones. Their work is rooted in science, driven by partnerships, and guided by a commitment to a healthier future for all. To learn more about the American ReLeaf program, visit AmericanForests.org.

Let Love Grow

By planting a memorial tree through our program, you are giving more than a gift—you are planting a future. Let us help you honor your loved one with a tribute that will flourish for years to come.
