A hero is an ordinary guy who finds strength. Someone who is really intent, in spite of overwhelming obstacles, on making this place better for all of us. A true hero isn’t measured by his strength but by the strength of his heart, paying it forward to something bigger than themselves.
I’m a picker, I’m a grinner, I’m a lover, I play my music in the sun. I’m a smoker, I’m a midnight toker and I sure don’t wanna hurt no one. I’m a joker! William, “Willy” or who was just loved as “Bill” joked hard and loved even harder. He understood that paying it forward is an expense that we can all afford and one that we all could not afford to live without. Bill was humble, a bit sarcastic but was a stand-up guy of principle with an unmatched sense of humor.
He always wanted to fix everything! He was thankful, giving and somehow just always figured it out because he always had a lot of love to give. Bill said himself, “You can be too old for a lot of things. But, you can never be too old to be afraid.”
In recent years he faced adversity and trying times but was thankful because he was our Hero…Exit light, enter night, we’re off to Never Never land…. Just that quick, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, the unthinkable became the unspeakable. The sandman had come. After just 54 years, Bill unexpectedly took our world with him to the better side of death and glory.
Bill was born in Camden, the armpit of south Jersey, and had spent time living in Oaklyn then Runnemede with more recent days spent tooling around Pine Haven campground in Ocean View. Early in his working years he was in sales and finished them up working as a Ranger down at Pine Haven. He loved throwing horseshoes, a good cigar and was immensely proud of who his children are and what they have become. He was an avid Philly sports fan, and the TV was never without Die Hard or Lethal Weapon. He’d recite the lines to ya!
Bill was deeply rooted in Earth 616 and identified there. These superheroes inspired confidence, intellect, care, and of course… hammer-throwing.
Avengers Assemble! Bill is survived by and leaves his enormous legacy with his loving wife and Best Friend Gina E. (nee Scott) Bowne. He is the father of the self-proclaimed favorite William & his wife Megan, Detective Brent Bowne & his fiancé Crystal, AO2 (AW/SW) Gianna Bowne and her fiance Arath Bill is the proud grandfather of; Billy, Mason, Lauren & Arath, Jr. “Peanut”He is also survived by his Mother Bette (nee Cocker), sister Shelley & her husband Ken Kline, many nieces and nephews, his Pine Haven Friends that quickly became his Pine Haven Family, as well as his faithful companions; Thor, Loki, and Odin. Bill was predeceased by his father Borden, one angel grandbaby and his trusty sidekicks Trooper and Soco. What is grief? Is not love perservering?
Good morning my neighbors… (in Eddie Murphy's voice on coming to America lol ) You are all invited to gather with the Bowne family on Saturday afternoon.
