Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind and no one is forgotten. Wendy D. Votta (nee Kramer) was one of a kind. She was incredibly selfless and generous. Just easy to talk to, with a wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh. Wendy was the aloha we wished to see in our world. Ahuwale ka po’okela i kau hana ia ha’i. It is through the way you treat others that your greatness will be felt.
Every sunset in Hawaii is like a beautiful farewell kiss. They are proof that there is beauty, even in the ending. While resting in her own home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, death's tender lips kissed Wendy into goodnight as her sun set just beyond the horizon, lost in paradise.
Wendy was born in Woodbury and had been a longtime Gloucester neighbor. She was a gracious host who enjoyed surrounding herself with those who mean the most to her. Wendy loved Christmas, summer pool parties, and spending time at home, filling her days reading, playing card games, and dancing around the house to 50s do whop. She made her career as a secretary and spent her working years at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia. Along with her husband, Wendy shared a love for Hawaii, having visited over 10 times, and established her connection in love there on her honeymoon and again on their 25th wedding anniversary. She held on to lifelong friendships and remained loyal to her high school classmates from Gloucester City High School for all these years. Wendy will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 35 years, Gerald Votta, and is the bonus mom of Karen & her husband Frank, Gerald and Susan, and her partner Asaf. Wendy is the proud Me-Mom of Regina (Stephen), Victoria (James), Mason and great Me-Mom of Briella and Brayden. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brother Lee & his wife Arlene Kramer as well as her nieces and nephews; Krystal, Lindsay (Tom), Kyle (Julie) and great nieces and nephews; Jackson, Lorelai, Joshua and Miles.
Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Votta family. We’ll come together where the tradewinds are at our back, the rainbows above our heads, and aloha all around us on Saturday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Powell St., Gloucester City where reflections of Wendy’s life will follow, at 12:00 pm, during which those who wish to speak and share memories are welcome. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
