Violet S. Farkas

Violet S. Farkas, (nee Jones), age 99 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Born in Fairview, New Jersey, Mrs. Farkas was a longtime resident of Collingswood and enjoyed summers with family in Ocean City, New Jersey. In her later years, she resided in Audubon. Mrs. Farkas met her late husband while they both served our country during World War II. She was a member of the WAVES (for Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service), the women's branch of the United States Naval Reserve during WWII. Mrs. Farkas is survived by her daughter Theresa “Terry” and her husband Rev. Stephen Wisner; son, Jack Farkas; daughter, Judy Lamborn; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Farkas was predeceased by her husband, Alexander E. Farkas; son, Alexander Farkas, Jr.; son-in-law, Gary Lamborn; and daughter-in-law, Jayne Farkas. Out of respect for Mrs. Farkas’ wishes, services will be private.
