Suzanne McGee

November 14, 1946 — June 6, 2015

Frosty The Snowman was a jolly happy soul with a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes that were made out of coal. Frosty the snowman was a fairytale, they say. Sue, "Susie", "Sueey", "Mama", "Mama Mc" or however you came to know Suzanne McGee (nee Fialkovich), she was a jolly soul with chocolate covered pretzels, homemade bread, city chickens, golden slippers and a coupon for everything! "Mom" opened her heart, her home and her world to everyone.
The first fall of snow is a magical event. On Saturday June 6, 2015, at the age of 68, Sue fell to sleep at Vitas Hospice in one world and awoke in another quite different. One where there shall be no more sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be any more pain. Sue and these former things have passed away.

Sue had raised her family in and had been a longtime resident of Blackwood in Gloucester Twp. She was born in Philadelphia and spent the very early part of her years on Darien St. in South Philly before moving to Cherry Hill. She was a graduate of Christ The King High School, class of 1964 in Haddonfield and went on to work as an X-Ray Technician. Sue worked for Our Lady Of Lourdes in Camden, part time at Dr. Bearden's office in Haddonfield and finally at Kennedy Hospital in Washington Twp. At home, Sue was "MOM". She actively participated in her childrens' lives during; guitar lessons, dance classes, school and class trips among many other activities. She was an extremely talented crafter and baker who faithfully attended craft shows every weekend. Christmas was her favorite time of year. Sue made homemade bread, candy and no one made chocolate covered pretzels better than her. In later years, Sue returned to work at La Petite Academy in Clementon where she was adored by the staff, families and children. Over the years Sue opened her home to so many children and family members, all of them greeted by a ridiculous amount of snowmen. Our mom was humble homebody who enjoyed a good time and a good laugh over nothing. Her death leaves a heartache difficult to heal. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving wife mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Sue fulfilled the "impossible dream" with her husband of 43 years, Denny McGee, Sr. of Blackwood. She is the mother of Dennis C. "Digger" & his wife Kristy "Girl" McGee, Jr. of Riverside and Allison P. & her husband Steven Ruff of Clementon. Sue is the proud grandmother of Shanna Kilroy, Skylar Renee Ruff, Ryann Starr Ruff and Emma Grace McGee. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brother Albert & his wife Patti Fialkovich of Surf City as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the McGee family to remember Sue, celebrate her love of snowmen; crafting, baking and family and to pay tribute to a loving mother and grandmother on Tuesday evening between 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Wednesday morning between 10:00 - 11:00 am at Henry Funeral Home 152 W. Atlantic Ave. Audubon where a funeral ceremony will be celebrated by Angela Ryan at 11:00 am. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Browning Rd. Bellmawr.
