She was in Gloucester City High School Class of 1958. Shirley raised her children in Gloucester and was truly a Proud Gloucester resident. She was one of the "old neighborhood" moms, becoming a 2nd mom to many of the neighborhood kids. Shirley was one of the first members of Gloucester City's Town Watch program in the 1980's. In her later years, she became very interested in genealogy. Shirley was well known throughout her community as an employee/Pharmacy tech at Thrift Drugs/Eckerd/Rite-Aid, in Brooklawn for over 30yrs, where she took great pleasure in serving her customers, many of which became her friends. Shirley had enormous love and devotion to her family and friends. Her grandchildren became her greatest loves. She easily made people part of her family. She had a very giving heart and spirit, as she was always ready to help anyone whom needed her. She was well known for her free spirit and "crazy" personality. She was truly one of a kind. ♥♥ Her funeral services are private as per her request. She requested that in lieu of flowers to please donate to a local food bank or animal shelter in her name.
