(nee Henderson) passed away at home on Monday, December 2, 2013. Ruth is predeceased by her parents Russell and Alice Henderson (nee Hanna), her sister Joan Lennox (nee Henderson), and her stepson Dennis Moir.
She is survived by her loving husband Robert Moir, her sister Lois Sypherd (Joe) of Mt. Laurel, stepson Ray Moir (Lorraine) of Westmont, stepdaughter Eileen Howell (Donald) of Boise, Idaho and daughter-in-law Kathy Moir; a nephew, Joseph Sypherd, and nieces Joan Gibbons, Kim Mullen and Lynne Sypherd. She leaves behind 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren plus 11 great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many life-long friends.
A retired school teacher, Ruth taught for 42 years at the Van Sciver School in Haddon Township and was a Charter Member of the Collingswood Area Chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. Ruth also was an active member of the NJ Retirees Education Association of Cape May County.
Family and friends are invited to join the family on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 10a-12p at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME, 152 W. Atlantic Ave., Audubon, NJ, 08106. A Celebration of Ruth's Life & Service of Remembrance will begin at 12 noon. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to: Deborah Heart Association, P.O. Box 820 Browns Mills, NJ 08015 or The Wetlands Institute, 1075 Stone Harbor Blvd, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247-1424.
