Rose Marie (Poiron) Johnson

December 6, 1925 — October 6, 2021

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, after 95 years, Rose Marie Johnson died peacefully and was surrounded by her loving family in her home in Audubon, NJ.

Mrs. Johnson was born the daughter of French immigrants, Alexis and Lena Poiron, who grew flowers for a living on their Barrington property.

She worked in banking during her early years and then, with her husband, ran their family-owned business, Leigh Florist, in Audubon from 1953 to 1972. At home, Rose Marie was a reader who kept up on current and world events. She enjoyed gardening and keeping a meticulous and welcoming home. She was a prolific letter writer, whose letters were distinguished by their heartfelt content and her beautiful handwriting. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed hamming it up in front of a camera. She was thankful for what she had and had an active spiritual life expressed through her Catholic faith, meditation, Tai Chi, yoga and offering classes. Rose Marie was unconditionally loved by all, but her most distinguishing characteristic was her unconditional love for others.

Mrs. Johnson is the widow of her late husband Leonard “Len” and is predeceased by her sister, Marianne. She is the mother of Leonard Michael & his wife Susan Johnson, Beth & her husband Dale Bishop, and Rosemarie & her husband Mike Kulak. She is the proud grandmother of Brian & his wife Allison Kulak, Keith & his fiancee, Dawn Kasper, Randy & his wife, Danielle Bishop, Becky & her husband, Rob Jentsch, and great-grandmother of Kylie, Taylor, Christopher, Ryan, Abby, and Coleman. She is also survived by and will be sadly missed by Joseph Levine & his wife Lisa, their children, Gabe and Lyla, as well as nieces and nephews, and her many friends, neighbors and members of her writing and dream groups.

The Johnson family have chosen to have a private celebration and memorial for Rose Marie at a future date. To share a heartfelt story, please visit www.crerancelebration.com #crerancelebration #heartfelt
