Paying it forward is about caring and sharing. It’s about compassion, kindness and generosity. It’s about sacrifice and love. You get what you give, so give good because it’s amazing how one person’s act of kindness can change the course of your life. Robert W. “Rob” Driscoll changed all of our lives. He was thoughtful, generous and welcomed everyone into his large heart. Nothing in this world is forever, not even our problems. Tuesday December 29, 2020 became a day where the unthinkable became the unspeakable. Rob unexpectedly passed away at his home in Cathedral City, CA. One day we will know how lucky we were to share in Rob’s love with wonder, not grief.
Rob was born in NJ and was shaped by his formative years in Audubon, Haddon Heights and Philadelphia before moving to Palm Springs, CA several years ago. He loved to work and create. Rob was a natural talent at restoring homes to the beauty they once held and enjoyed the fast paced social life of working in the Tropicale Restaurant in Palm Springs, CA . He was an absolute dog lover, and loved nothing more than a day of shopping or lunch at the diner with his aunts and grandmother, coffee with a friend, or dinner with his family.
Rob is survived by husband Diego Loera, his mother Kathleen & her husband Joe Bocchicchio, step father Bill & his wife Sharon Clark, and his father Raymond W. Scannapieco and his wife Diane. He is the brother of Brian & his wife Cheryl Clark, Donna Clark & Jean DeMarco. Rob is also survived and will be sadly missed by his niece Madison Clark, his nephew Kevin Clark as well as his great aunt Isabella Cobert and his cousin Paulette Cobert. Rob also leaves faithful companions Teddy and Riley.
Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to gather with Rob’s family on Friday evening between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm. The time honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing. Rob’s family would like to share that no act of kindness is too small. Rob demonstrated this daily. Please think of Rob and pay it forward, no matter how small a deed it is. It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.
