Richard Burkhardt, Sr. age 73 of Blackwood, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Dept. of Veteran Affairs Community Living Center in Philadelphia.
Mr. Burkhardt was born in Camden and had spent his early years in Brooklawn. His home had contributed to the manpower of thei great nation and upheld the ideals of our American freedoms in the U.S. Navy during 1967 - 1971.
Mr. Burkhardt worked as Boilermaker and made his career at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Mr. Burkhardt is the widower of his late wife, Caroline (nee Harrison) and sis survived by his son, Richard Jr. Rich was predeceased by his children; the lateMichelle Burkhardt and the late Amanda Garamano, the late. Mr. Burkhardt is the proud grandfather of; Zack & Tyler Burkhardt, Brittany Winters, Edgar, Manny and Lidia Garamano. He is survived and will be sadly missed by hsi siblings Mary Ann Zearfoss, Bernard, James & Michael Burkhardt. Rich was predeceased by his brothers, the late Larry, the late John and the late Bobby Burkhardt.
Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to gather with the Burkhardt family. We’ll come together in tribute on Friday morning between 10:00 am and 11:00 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Powell St. Gloucester City where a remembrance ceremony will take place at 11:00 am. A graveside tribute will immediately follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
