Mary A. Skokowski

On November 9, 2016, Mary (nee Byrne) who was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City,
NJ, age 96 passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family . She was the beloved
wife of the late Stanley Skokowski, and loving mother of Stanley W. (Lila), James J.
(Kathy), the late Robert J., and the late Maryanne Cleaver. She is also survived by her
dear granddaughter Debra Capasso (Kenneth) , 13 grandchildren, many great
grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Mary spent her last few years at
Shady Lane Nursing Home with many wonderful staff members. She loved volunteering
her time and helping others at Gloucester Towne for many years. Mary's hobbies
included playing Bingo, word search puzzles, and playing cards. She also enjoyed
Sunday mass or doing the rosary prayer with her granddaughters. Relatives and friends
are invited to meet Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30AM at the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN
FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 426 Monmouth St.,
Gloucester City. Interment will follow at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. In lieu of
flowers Mary's family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the St. Vincent
dePaul Society, c/o St. Mary's Catholic Church 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ
