Mary T. Laxton

Mary T. Laxton (nee McGovern), age 85 of Cherry Hill, passed away on Wednesday February 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Home, Cherry Hill.

Mrs. Laxton was born in Philadelphia, PA and had been a longtime resident of the Rhawnhurst neighborhood in Phila. And of Camden City, NJ. Mary is the widow of her late husband John F. "Fred" Laxton, Jr. She is survived by her children Fred., III & his wife Jan, Michael & his wife Nancy, James & his wife kathy, Kenneth, Jeffrey, Margaret Razler and Karen & her husband Bill Liss. Mary is the proud grandmother of Steven Laxton, Patrick Gavaghan, Michael, James, Jr., Rachel and Denise Laxton, Colleen Armstrong, Maggie, Kyle, Ian, Raymond, Shannon and Mavrick Laxton, Emily & Rebecca Liss and great grandmother of 11. Mrs. Laxton is the sister of the late Jim McGovern, the late Peg McGettigan and is also survived and will be sadly missed by her brothers Charles & Michael McGovern, her sister Catherine Farrell, her brother in law Tom McGettigan, her cousin Hughie Reilly and her dear friends John Conway and Karen McDonough.


Relatives and friends are invited to join the Laxton family to remember and pay tribute to Mary on Tuesday morning between 8:30 am and 10:30 am at the Henry Funeral Home 152 W. Atlantic Ave. Audubon. Mass of Christian Burial will Celebrated at 11 am at St. Rose of Lima Church, Haddon Heights. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Home 201 St. Mary's Dr. Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 or to Camden Catholic High School 300 Cuthbert Rd. Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
