Marilyn A Flexon

Generous of spirit, full of empathy, perhaps a little prone to sentimentality and a heart as big as a cloudless sky. Marilyn A. Flexon was Independent, creative and hardworking. The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart, but some memories never leave your heart. Like the salt in the sea; they become part of you. Marilyn relished her time at the beach, taking in the wonders of nature and photography. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words but the memories are priceless. On Friday July 23, 2021 Marilyn passed away at home in Gloucester City, with memories, not aspirations. Like the hummingbird, she floats free from time, carrying hopes of love, joy and celebration.

Marilyn’s circle of days began, 74 years ago during the middle of summer, in Camden City. She was an innate animal lover who had a fascinating journey of uncovering the spiritual purpose of pets. Marilyn worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden for over 30 years in security and enjoyed spending time at home crafting. She did beadwork, cross stitch and made jewelry.

Mother nature knows no right. Mother nature knows no wrong. She has taught us suffering, as old stones suffer with memory, acceptance as the leaves which die in the fall and courage as the tree that stands alone. Marilyn is survived by her children Michele and Michael and his wife Colleen Mader. She is the proud grandmother of Olivia Mader and is the sister of William & his wife Kimber Flexon, Gary and his wife Marcy Flexon. She is also survived and will be sadly missed by her nephews; Andy, Alec and Billy Flexon.

Burn what is left of me and scatter my ashes to the winds, to help the flowers grow.
