On Friday, December 30, 2022, after 86 years, Marie A. Johnson’s road had risen and she reached the end of the rainbow. She was in heaven half an hour before the devil had known she died.
Marie was born in Philadelphia and spent her formative years in Lansdowne, Delco. She had spent some time in Secane before moving to Jersey where she lived in Haddon Twp. and most recently Oaklyn. Marie was a parishioner of St. Philomena’s Church and spent all her years cheering on the Flyers and the Phillies. She made a career working as a bookkeeper and filled her time at home with crossword puzzles and Jeopardy. Marie loved her poodles, struttin’ to the string bands, Tommy’s Tavern in Collingdale, and the big Sunday dinners.
Marie is survived by her children; Michael, Dennis, Mark, Daniel, Alan, and Karen Jenkins (Joe Bramley). She is the proud grandmother of; Michael, Lauren, Craig, and Justin, and great-grandmother of; Adalynn, Santiago, Christian, Julianna, Caleb, and Khalil.
Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Johnson family. We’ll be struttin' to the string bands and sharing our heartfelt stories between 9:30 am and 11:30 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church 37 W. Haddon Ave. Oaklyn. Interment will immediately follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
