Marie G (Curcio) Biondo

January 28, 1927 — February 4, 2022

The glory of life surmounts the fear of death. Does anybody know the better side of death and glory? Live the present and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering. Marie G. Biondo (nee Curcio) held her faith and her fun dear. She committed her life to her family, her church and danced through her years, unselfishly giving herself and her time. There is a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to polka dance.

On Friday February fourth, just a few short days after her 95th birthday it was con te partiro… time to say goodbye. Heaven had lit her way and She moved lightly, over the border between heaven and earth. After 95 years, her soul rose like incense from her home in Haddon Heights. The angels have waited, for so long, now they have their way.

Mrs. Biondo was born in our nation’s cradle, on the south side of the city of brotherly love and had spent her formative years there. The Biondo’s headed to the suburbs and found their little patch of heaven in Haddon Heights, NJ where she resided for 62 years, in the same house. During her early years she worked at Western Union then dedicated her years as a doting wife, mother and homemaker. She had been a parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish in Mt. Ephraim and later became a parishioner of St. Joachim Parish, Annunciation Church in Bellmawr. Mrs. Biondo had been an active parishioner taking part in the Alter & Rosary Society, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Heritage society, the Sunshine Club and participated in the many Church functions as well as “Healthy Bones” the Church exercise group and had volunteered her time at St. John of God School in Westville.

Some say, life is like bowling. Keep your eye on the ball, your concentration on the game and your mind out of the gutter! Marie was an avid bowler and spent almost 50 years on the lanes. She spent many years at Camden Lanes, most of her years at Baker Lanes where she organized leagues and served as league treasurer followed by Westbrook Lanes in Brooklawn

Mrs. Biondo is the widow of her late husband Gene Biondo. She is the mother of; Maureen & her late husband Louis Smith, III, Denise & her husband Michael Colavita and Genamarie Biondo. Marie is the proud grandmother of; Daniel & his wife Colleen, Michael, Andrew, Janina, Louis, IV and great grandmother of Jackson, Mackenzie & Delaney. Marie is also survived and will be sadly missed by her sister Monica, devoted caretaker and friend Margaret “Juni”, her dear friend Jim Zeck, many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her brother Joseph Curcio.

Relatives, friends, neighbors, parishioners and bowlers are invited to gather with the Biondo family. We'll be sharing bowling stories and our heartfelt memories on Thursday morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at St. Joachim Parish, Annunciation Church 601 W. Browning Rd. Bellmawr where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Although separated by death but remain connected by love, we will witness love’s reunion at New St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Bellmawr following Mass. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Samaritan Hospice www.samaritannj.org 3906 Church Rd. Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054
