Maria C Wood

Maria C. Wood (nee Hudson), age 73 of Mantua, made her departure from this world in the early hours of Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. Maria is survived by her daughter, AnneMarie Moorer. She is the proud grandmother of Maximos and his wife Kristy Velahos) and Mason Moorer. Maria spent most of her life being an incredible homemaker and a constant source of support and love for her most cherished grandchildren. She was an avid reader, football lover, painter, dollmaker, baker, and lover of Wawa coffee. In 2018, after the death of her husband (John Wood), Maria took the job as a bus aide to special needs children in the Clearview School district. She loved her job, the children she served, and the meaningful friendships she gained during this time. Maria will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend special and heartfelt thank you to the staff and community of Serendipity Salon for their unwavering support & understanding over the past few weeks which allowed her daughter to spend precious time with her mother. Also, we’d like to extend, with the deepest of gratitude & love, to those core few who selflessly & unconditionally supported the family.

Maria’s family have chosen to take comfort in each other and share their heartfelt stories privately.
