A smile is a sign of joy. It’s the beaming light into the window of a beautiful soul. A laugh is the sign of happiness ‘cause the love and the laughter will live on, long after, all of the sadness and the tears. Lynn Jackson (nee Welker) had a hearty laugh and illuminated every room with her radiant smile. She was a legend in her family… “The cool mom” and "auntie" A hippy-dippy wife, mother, sister, and friend who just loved to entertain and enjoy a cocktail or two. The drinks bring back all the memories we’ve been through.
Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy, and celebration. The hummingbird's delicate grace reminds us that life is rich, beauty is everywhere, and laughter is life's sweetest creation. On Saturday, August 13, 2022, Our tears not only fell, they crashed around us. We learned how terrible it was to love what death can touch. And, like a bird, after 72 years, Lynn floated free from time… away from all of us from Virtua Lourdes Hospital in Camden.
Lynn was born in Philadelphia and had been a longtime Collingswood neighbor where she raised her family. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly. Lynn had endured MS for over 40 years. She was a fighter and accepted her normal, without complaint. She spent her formative years working as a dental hygienist and pursued a career in banking where she made some of her best friends, for life. As a young wife, Lynn left the work world to take on the hardest job of ‘em all and be a mom. She loved to vacation and travel. At home, Halloween was her holiday. She fed the birds with peanuts and her special feed, enjoyed card games, and still played the original Nintendo.
To the world, Lynn, you may have been just a mother. But, to your family, you were our world. Lynn leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Bob and her daughters; Kristin Jackson & her Fiance Jimmy Soto and Ashley Jackson & her boyfriend Andrew Sell. She was very active and a proud grandmother of Casey and Morgan Sell. Lynn is survived by her sister-in-law Delores Welker and was predeceased by siblings, The late Gene Welker and the late Conni Welker. She is also survived and will be terribly missed by her BEST girlfriends Peggy Ewald and Lana Olson.
Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to join the Jackson family. PLEASE Wear your tie-dye. We’ll come together in tribute and thanksgiving at “Lynnstock” on Sunday afternoon. We’ll gather between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm. Peace, love, and happiness is Lynn’s afterglow. Burn what is left, free me from this body and scatter my ashes to the winds. If you must bury something let it be my faults and my weaknesses. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at the Chews United Methodist Church Cemetery, 319 N. Black Horse Pike, Glendora, NJ 08029. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, you can pay it forward with contributions to the New Jersey Metro Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society www.nationalmssociety.org Aspen Corporate Park 1, 1480 US Highway 9 North, Suite 30, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
