Lillie M. Smith (nee Haynes) age 99 of Stratford, passed away on Friday March 12, 2010, one month short of her 100th birthday, at Vitas Inpatient Hospice in Stratford.
Mrs. Smith was a lifelong resident of Collingswood and was an avid Phillies fan. Lillie had worked as a Secretary for the Camden County Board of Elections and had also been an active and longtime volunteer for the Camden County Democratic Party.
Mrs. Smith is the Beloved wife of the late John R. Smith, Sr., and mother of the late Alvera Holmes.
She is survived by her son John R. Smith, Jr. and his wife Olive; and is the proud grandmother of 5 grandchildren; Susan Becker (Henry), Kathleen Stafford (Ben), Glenn Smith (Sandra), Danielle Orlando (Luis), Melanie Shaw (Gray), 10 great grandchildren; Ben Stafford (Christy), Lauren Williams (Shaun), Stephanie Stafford, Kelli Becker, Steven Becker, Andrew Becker, Jared Shaw, Ethan Shaw, Isabel Smith, Niko DeCristofaro and 4 great great grandchildren.
Interment and graveside tribute will be held privately at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: Vitas Inpatient Hospice 523 Fellowship Rd. Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054
