Leon was born, raised and spent his life in Gloucester City with his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 65 years, Shirley A. Harris (Reeve). Together they raised three devoted sons: Leon Jr. (Theresa), Steven (Eileen) and Dale (Deborah). He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Andrew (Hannah), Keri, Steven and Angela as well as his half-sister, Sandy Clifford. The family will miss the love, support and laughter he brought to our lives.
Leon was a Korean War veteran, a member of the Ray Ford Old Timers Club and the Memorial AA Club. He was a 1950 graduate of Gloucester High School who was inducted in the GHS Hall of Fame. After retiring from Wonder Bread, after 32 years, he worked for the Gloucester City School District. Leon was an avid sports fan who never missed a Gloucester High football game. He also enjoyed betting the ponies, spending mornings with the guys at the Coffee Corner and Saturday afternoons at the Memorial AA Club. In the summer months, he looked forward to sitting on the dock at the Lobster House with his wife and family. Leon lived a full life and will be missed by many.
