Lawrence M. "Lance" Niosi

October 3, 1965 — September 14, 2024

Staten Island

Let's begin with a story of a man who started his day before sunrise, and spoke beautifully of ferry rides to work amongst the hustle and bustle of the big city. A man who valued his work in the trades loved his home and kept it as his cherished castle along with his motorized pride and joy. A man who loved his family and the treasured memories they left upon his heart.

A man who traveled away from home each "Camping Season" to be amongst friends, nature, and a little mischief. All while being dressed down in his "Summer Sweater."A man driving his golf cart around the lake and enjoying a few cocktails at the Shot Shack and playing cornhole with his closest friend and the young men who he's watched grow up. (The young men who kept a smile on his face, and kept him young at heart.) A man who rarely ate a meal with you but always had plates of food delivered by all those he came to touch in some extraordinary way. And, to the handshakes he gave with a monetary touch to celebrate a birthday, holiday, or scholarly accomplishment.

A man who wanted to relish in the beauty of music that took him back to times of being young and carefree, even in his older years. And, most times, at tones that were a few decibels too high for some people to enjoy. A man who shared his thoughts with conviction, ("Oh Yeah!") but who valued the opinion of others. These are just some of the ways to describe our Lance.

Lawrence M. Niosi Jr. was born October 3, 1965 in Staten Island, New York to the late Lawrence Niosi & Janet (nee Eller) He was preceded in death by his brother Frank Niosi. Lance is survived by his Loving brother Christopher Niosi, his wife Tara, and his adoring niece Eller.

Lance also leaves behind his oldest and dearest friends, Robert Peach (Laura Pieper Peek) and James "Dooley" Dowling ( Bridget Dowling) along with a host of treasured cousins, friends, Union Brothers & Sisters of NY District Counsel of Carpenters Local 2287, and his seasonal friends & family at Red Wing Lakes Campground in Port Republic, NJ. They say that the human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it. And, if you had the pleasure of knowing Lance, I'm sure you would have to agree.

At Lance's request, there will be no formal funeral services. Sit back, be thankful for the memories, and relish in all that life has to offer while enjoying a libation of your choosing. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
