Katherine Alberta Van Fossen (nee Keim)(Nicknamed Bunny) of Gloucester City, age 87. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Van Fossen Jr. Beloved mother to Charles, Michael, and Lisa. Grandmom of Charles Van Fossen, Jeff Brozena, Michael, Katherine, and John Van Fossen, Ashley Kanoc, and Edward Blansche. Great-Grandmom of Julia, Brielle, Liam, Charlie Van Fossen, and Jason Brozena. Aunt and Great-Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
On September 4, 2019 with Family by her side, Katherine was called home to be with the Lord and Family. Katherine was born on July 8, 1932 to Albert and Katherine (Spence) Keim and a loving stepdaughter of Harold Thomasson. She grew up in Gloucester City with her siblings Bill Keim, Harold and Dorothy Thomasson and graduated Gloucester HS Class of 1950. She worked at Hinde & Dauch Paper Company, where she met and fell in love with Charles. They married on April 21, 1956 at St Mary's Church. They settled in Gloucester and raised their children. Later on she worked at Thermoseal Glass and as crossing guard at Mary Ethel Costello School. She spent many years Housekeeping at Cundys Motel.
Katherine was a devout Catholic and Parishioner of St Mary's Church for over 60 years. Katherine had a full and fun social life and was always up for playing cards, poker, bingo, or spending time with her family and friends and was a resident of Carpenters Square Senior Complex. Katherine was known for her love of music, dancing, and sports. She especially loved the Mummers, Frank Sinatra, the Phillies, and E-A-G-L-E-S. She had a keen wit and fun loving nature that brightened up any room she walked into. She had a very giving heart and spirit and was always ready to help anyone whom needed her.
Relatives and friends are invite to celebrate Katherine's life at the Etherington-Creram Funeral Home, 700 Powell Street, Gloucester City, on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 AM at St Mary's Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ. Interment to follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St Vincent DePaul Society c/o St. Mary's Church.
