Friendship is the golden thread that ties our hearts together and hugs fix everything. They say that girls are made of sugar, spice and everything nice. Karen English (nee Barkoff) was loving and sweet. An old fashioned grandma with her pot of tea. She was the best mom. Supportive, caring and never judged. The glory of life surmounts the fear of death. Good Christians fear hellfire, so, to avoid it they’re kind. The Liturgy for the dead is an Easter Liturgy. It finds all its meaning in the resurrection. Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we too, shall be raised hi. Karen held her faith dear and heaven had lit her way. After 76 years, on Saturday October 10, 2020 her soul rose like incense and we were left with infinite love.
Karen was born in Camden and had spent her formative years in the Erlton section of Cherry Hill. She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years and had retired after a few years working at Pride of The Sea in Shamong. She had been a longtime resident and raised her family in Mantua. Karen was a parishioner of Church of The Incarnation Parish and a member of the Red Hat Society. At home she enjoyed her family; her grandchildren, crafting, baking and tea.
Karen is the widow of her late husband Philip B. and is survived by her daughter Patricia Mossop of mantua. She is the proud grandmother of Alex Mossop, Krystal & her husband Brad Taft and great grandmother of Kyle & Emily Taft.
Relatives, friends, neighbors and Red Hatters are invited to gather with the English family to remember Karen, have a spot of tea and fix everything with a hug on Thursday evening between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm and again on Friday Morning between 9:00 am and 10:00 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike Oaklyn. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at the Church of The Incarnation Parish 240 Main St. Mantua. Love’s reunion and the time honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd. Cherry HIll, NJ 08034 www.cancer.org #crerancelebration #heartfelt
