June 19, 1937 — March 28, 2012
June Grace Rettew Shinn died of natural causes on March 28, 2012. Mrs. Shinn passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Virtua Hospital. A loving wife and mother, June remained active in her community of Bellmawr.
June is survived by Stockwell Shinn, her husband of 53 years, daughter Terry and her husband Bob Fichter of Sicklerville, daughter Patty of Bellmawr, son Bob and his partner Willard Weislogel of Mount Laurel, daughter Jackie and her partner Diana Clark of Runnemede, and her grandchildren Chris, Nichole, Steven, Laura, and Jonas. June's interest in local and national politics was well known through her publications in this paper. She remained as caregiver to her mother, sister, and brother in their later years. June is preceeded by her parents and siblings. June could often be found canning and preserving the bounty of husband Sonny's extensive garden. The memory of her bedtime ritual of Pepsi and Pretzels will be forever cherished by her family.
Services will be held Tuesday, April, 3, 2012. Viewing 10am, Service 11am. June's interment will be at Woodbury Memorial Cemetery, Woodbury, NJ. A luncheon in her honor will be hosted at the home of Terry and Bob Fichter following the services.
