Joseph P D'Abundo

April 23, 1928 — February 3, 2021

Joseph P. D’Abundo passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February, 3,2021 at the age of 92. Mr. D’Abundo was born and raised in Camden, NJ and had been a longtime resident of Oaklyn. He worked as a lab technician at NJ Zinc in Gloucester City until his retirement. Joe was a  dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, St. Aloysius Church in Oaklyn. A lifelong fan of the New York, later San Francisco Giants, he attended many games and visited many ballparks enjoying the national pastime. Mr. D’Abundo spent time listening and singing along to classic country music and other favorites throughout his life. He took great pride in working around his home, both inside and outside. Joe has with him cherished memories of years spent with his buddies at their favorite diner. He will fondly be remembered as knowledgeable, gentle, kind and generous. Uncle Joe always treated his nieces and nephews as his own children.

Mr. D’Abundo was predeceased by his “little Dearie'' and wife of 52 years, Emma D’Abundo (nee: Dannibale). She was his one and only true love. Joe was also predeceased by his four siblings but is survived and will be sadly missed by his nieces: Sr Nancy Butler SSJ, Rosemarie Coppola, Theresa Carbone, Annette Dannibale, Nancy D’Amato, Dawn Dennery, Stacy Issel, Angela Sanson and his nephews: John Butler, Dino Dannibale and Neal Sporano. Mr. D’Abundo is also survived by his many great & great-great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the D’Abundo family on Monday morning between 9:30 to 10:30am at the Etherington & Creran funeral home 400 White Horse Pike Oaklyn. The D’Abundo family will celebrate Joe’s life in a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Joseph the Worker parish, St. Aloysius Church 37 West Haddon Ave Oaklyn. Interment will follow at New St. Mary's cemetery & Mausoleum 515 West Browning Rd. Bellmawr, NJ
