Of Audubon, NJ age 65 past away at his residence on Thursday April 15, 2010.
He was the beloved husband of the late Frances J. (nee Purdy) Brown and son of the late Joseph A. Brown, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Putz Brown.
Joe is survived by his loving children Jennifer J. Brown (Michael Granato) of Mantua and Joseph A. Brown, III and wife
Tracy of Elkins Park, PA; his
cherished grandchildren Max, Ella, Jeffrey, Jacob and Jonah; loving son in law Josh Jordan; dearest Aunt Kate Caffrey and cousin Lauren Caffrey-Reihms.
Joe proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He had been a resident of Audubon for the past 38 yrs. Prior to his retirement, he was a service manager for Ferrero U.S.A., Inc., in Somerset, NJ.
Joe was active with sports in his community, being the founder of
Audubon Soccer Club in the late 1970's and an assistant coach for Audubon Little League. One might say that the Brown family had a "league of their own", the MABA (Maple Avenue Basketball Assoc) which family, friends and neighbors played on Saturday nights. Joe was also a member of the United German-Hungarian Soccer Club of Phila.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Brown family to remember and pay tribute to Joe on Tuesday between 4:00 - 6:30PM at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME, 152 W. Atlantic Ave, Audubon followed by a Memorial Service at 6:30PM with military honors. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations can be made to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
