Beloved husband for 31 years of Ann (nee Houghton); devoted father of
James (Caroline) Kerfoot of Medford Lakes, Linda Kerfoot of Mt. Ephraim,
Kenneth (Barbara) Kerfoot of Southampton, John (Patricia) Kerfoot of
Mt. Ephraim, John (Patricia) Tannock of Cherry Hill, Eileen (Joe) Leigh of
Sweedsboro, and Beth Malesich of Mt. Ephraim; loving grandfather of 13,
great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Dorothy Wesson of CA.

John served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the European
Theater where he earned the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star. In 1953, John moved to Audubon Park. He enjoyed the distinction of being the longest serving member and Chairman of Audubon Park Borough Council since 1967. John was one of Camden County's most enduring civic leaders, Councilman, State Senate Sergeant-At-Arms and had a perfect attendance at County Committee meetings for over fifty years. John was appointed Freeholder in 2000 when a vacancy occurred on the Camden County Freeholder's Board. In 2003, the borough of Audubon Park dedicated a building in his name for his history of community leadership and volunteerism. In 2004, the New Jersey Senate and General Assembly presented a Resolution for his lifetime of service to the borough and county in a ‘John Kerfoot Day' ceremony. Distinguished guests and government officials honored John with a 90th birthday extravaganza in 2005 and just recently his family and friends celebrated his 91st birthday at Drumthwacket-the New Jersey governor's mansion.

Over the years, John has made significant contributions as a member of the Audubon Park Fire Department, the Board of Education, the Office of Aging, the Camden County
Community Development Program and the Municipal Utilities Authority. He was also a
member of the Knights of Columbus 32nd degree, a member of Haddonfield Lodge No.130 F&A.M., the VFW, and DAV. John was also an avid bowler with a seniors group, bowling at least 4 times a week.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday evening from 6-9PM and
Wednesday morning from 9-11AM at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME, 152 W. Atlantic Ave., Audubon followed by a Funeral Service at 11AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to: Audubon High School Scholarship Fund, 350 Edgewood Ave., Audubon, NJ 08106
