John "Jack" E. Bell

October 13, 1937 — December 17, 2013

On Dec., 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" Bell, his children Jeanne Bell Pitt, Billy Bell, Brian Bell, Joe Baxter, Steve Baxter, Michelle Baxter and their spouses. He is also survived by his brother Tim Bell, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, cousin Mike Fahy & many other loving lifelong friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and their extended families. He was predeceased by his parents Harold & Virginia Bell, sister Sue Bell Stashis, son Johnnie Bell and grandson Samuel Bell. "Chief" Bell served as a volunteer fireman with Defender Fire Co. in Audubon starting in 1964. He was known as "Slugo" by his fireman family and was always known to have a smile for everyone. He served in the US Army, and worked as a printing pressman for 42 years serving with the International Teamster Union Local 14M of Philadelphia. After retirement, he and Peggy moved to Florida, and then to Virginia Beach.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 12pm Sat., Dec. 21 at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 300 Kings Hwy., Haddon Heights, NJ. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. Fireman's honors will be provided by Audubon Fire Dept. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to the Audubon Fire Dept., 221 W Merchant St, Audubon, NJ 08106.
