Joanne "Diane" L (Watters) Witherow

September 7, 1942 — August 4, 2022

Williamstown

Dance as if no one is watching, Love as though you’ve never been hurt and sing as if no one is listening. Charlie Chaplain says, Life is simple; get some rest, enjoy a good diet and surround yourself with good friends. Joanne L. “Diane” Witherow (nee Watters) filled her circle of days with each. She loved and lived a happy, caring path of time. Just recently, we began losing time, we lost a little more of Diane but we remembered her love when she could no longer remember. Our hearts never forget. love is not a memory, It’s a feeling and it’s in our soul. On Thursday August 4, 2022, after 79 years, we boxed up all of Diane’s yesterdays and neatly put them away at her home in Williamstown. From the bank of the timber lakes, surrounded by the love of her family, we turned Diane over from time to eternity. Watch the sunset and remind us again how the end can be beautiful. Our loss is immeasurable but so is her love left behind.

Diane was born in Camden and had spent her formative years as a Gloucester neighbor. She made a career as a hairdresser and enjoyed her retired years in Williamstown. She was a “girly girl”, Diane loved BLING, shopping, going out for dinner and jitter buggin’ the night away. Love is Like A Candle. Though it may light a thousand more candles, its flame is never diminished. Diane managed it all and kept everyone connected. Although she’d say she was a homebody, Diane loved “girl time” and kept all of the old friends together.

True love is our soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another. Diane enjoyed 57 years of marriage and although separated by eternity they are connected by love and leaves her soulmate Raymond Witherow to cherish her memory.

Diane is also survived and will be sadly missed by her siblings; Leona Wall, Tina Keating, Charlie Sarlo, Louis Sarlo, Timothy Watters, April Watters, David Watters and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives, lifelong friends and neighbors are invited to come together with the Witherow family. We’ll be tappin’ our toes to the doo wop of the 50’s, Elvis and taking comfort in each other. We’ll be sharing our heartfelt stories between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Powell St. Gloucester City. where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm. A graveside tribute will immediately follow at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society www.fightcancer.org ACS CAN P.O. Box 720295 Oklahoma City, OK 73172-0295.
