On January 21, 2019 of Gibbsboro and formerly of Magnolia, NJ. Age 90 years. Beloved husband for 66 years of Florence E. Shimp, father of Catherine Ballard (Mark) and Carolyn Shimp, grandfather of 3 and great grandfather of 3. Mr. Shimp was a proud Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and Past Commander of the Collingswood American Legion Post #17. He was a long time member of the Oaklyn Baptist Church, a lifetime member of Magnolia Fire Co., and an avid bowler. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Thursday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at the Oaklyn Baptist Church 29 E. Bettlewood Ave., Oaklyn, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held 7:30 PM at the Church. Friends are also invited to stop by the family house in Gibbsboro Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested Memorial Donations in Howard's name be made to the Animal Welfare Assoc., 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees Twp, NJ 08043 or the Monkey's House, A Dog Hospice and Sanctuary, 820 N. Delsea Dr., Clayton, NJ 08312.
