Harry "Skeetz" Rothery Redman, III

On Thursday April 8th, 2021, Harry Rothery Redman III of Sicklerville, NJ was called home to be with his Creator, Lord and Savior.

Harry (affectionately known to all) as “Skeetz” was Seventy-Nine years old. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Mrs. Elizabeth M Redman (nee Gorecki) of Haddonfield, NJ; His son Mr. Randall R M Redman of Sicklerville, NJ; His Puppy Oliver, and his kittens. His brother John L and wife Cecilia Redman of Berlin, NJ; Brother-in-Law to Mr. Joseph F Gorecki of Washington Township; Sister-in-Law to Mrs. Andrea C Causey and husband Richard B of Pine Hill; Nephews Mr. David R Redman and wife Ashley of MD; Mr. Steven L Redman and wife Lynn of MD; Mr. Joseph M Gorecki of Westville, NJ and Mr. Ian B Causey of the USMC stationed in North Carolina.  His Nieces Mrs. Allison E Fleming and her husband Justin of Pitman, NJ, and Miss Katelyn E Causey of Pine Hill NJ.  Five Grandnieces, Christina, Alexandra, Madison, Harper M, Evelyn B. Grandnephew Scott and great Grandniece, Carolina.

My father was born on the 30th of December 1941 to Mr. Harry R Redman Jr and Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Barr Redman (nee Wortman) who were residing in Oaklyn, New Jersey.

His paternal family descends from the family of Founding Father and Signer of both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States, George Clymer of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who was a member of both the First and Second Continental Congress.

His maternal family is documented and proven to descend from Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fuller and son Samuel of the Mayflower, which landed in Plymouth in 1620. Nine Kings of England including HRH King Edward III of England. Eleven Kings of France including the First Holy Roman Emperor Charlamagne and Nine Kings of Scotland.

Harry was raised in Oaklyn, NJ where he attended the Mary A. Finney, Oaklyn Junior High, before going to and graduating from Collingswood High School in 1960.

He enlisted in the United States Airforce in 1961 and was stationed at Moody Airforce Base in Valdosta, Georgia. After being Honorably Discharged in 1965.  He started his working career at the RCA Company of America, before becoming a Supervisor at three United States Postal facilities from where he retired.  He spent the rest of his days gardening, making corny jokes, playing crossword puzzles and games, going out to lunch, spending quality time with old friends and family. He enjoyed spending the weekends with my mother and puppy, going to the Berlin Farmers Market, and pampering his four-legged, furball kitten grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a past President of the Oaklyn, Lions Club. And a life member of the Oaklyn Fire Department.

My father was a kind man beloved by many. He was blessed to have several close friends and neighbors, many of which spanned decades, some since grammar school of which he considered to be brothers and sisters. He was adored by my friends. And my friends adored him. Many regarded him as their honorary father, and he regarded them as his honorary children. He was my mother’s lifelong companion and my Hero. He will be extremely missed.

Relatives, friends and neighbors are invited to gather with the Redman family on Friday morning between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Ceran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm.
