The universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart. So had we. Grace M. Cruts (nee Kiefer) was Sharp, spirited, and energetic. She was probably “too honest” when she spoke out, definitely stubborn as a mule but, ALWAYS RIGHT! Grace took advice from the ocean. She was shore of herself, didn’t let the tide down, and made waves. Seeing death as the end of life though is just as seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. There’s never anytime to say goodbye but after 79 years, we witnessed her tide slip away from her beach at Cooper Hospital on Monday, February 20, 2023. Our footprints in the sand may fade but our memories will always remain.
Grace’s circle of days began during WWII beneath the shadow of a robust steel industry in Allentown, PA. She was established in love on November 18, 1961, and was a career homemaker making her home in Woodlynne, NJ. Grace was an avid moviegoer and got lost in her soaps every day. She loved to fish, try her luck at the casinos and Oh, those Wildwood days were filled with her feet in the sand during the day and boardwalk games at night.
A mother’s love remains infinite. Don’t fear sadness as it tends to sit next to love. Mrs. Cruts is survived and will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 61 years, Edward D. Cruts. She leaves to cherish the afterglow of her memory; Lisa Roberston and her companion Brian Molloy, Edward Cruts and his wife Susan Scott and Kathleen & her husband Dale Varndell, Jr. Grace is the proud grandmother of Barbara & her husband Kevin, Nick and his wife Ashley, Petey, Veronica, Frankie, Gabby and great grandmother of Connor, Patrick, and Jaxon.
The Cruts family has chosen to come together and take comfort in each other privately. As an expression of sympathy contributions can be made to the Animal Welfare Association www.awanj.org 509 Centennial Blvd. Voorhees, NJ 08043.
