In loving memory of Jerry Harter

Dec. 26, 1947- Dec. 24, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the passing of Jerry Harter, loving husband, father and grandfather. Jerry died unexpectedly from heart complications on the morning of Dec 24th, 2024. 

Born in a December snowstorm, he lived his 76 years devoted to his family. Uninterested in material possessions (with the exception of his hat collection, golf club collection, tool/ladder collection and scrap wood collection…to name a few) he spent his time and energy on those he loved including his spouse of 54 years Kathleen (nee Cavallaro), his children and their spouses Carolyn (Evan) Hecker and Matthew (Jacquelyn) Harter, and his 6 grandchildren: Nathan, Joshua and Lukas Hecker and Zephyr Harter, Michaela Bogon and Dave Bogon. Jerry spread his passion for golf, scuba diving, eating soup (any meal, any season) and traveling (minus the airplane), to all of those around him. 

In keeping with his wishes, only a private family service is being held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either of the two charities Jerry so strongly supported. And, in true Jerry fashion, feel free to change your mind as many times as you want before choosing between them.
