on March 25, 2011, age 91 of Collingswood, NJ beloved husband of Marian K. Potter (nee Quigley) for 64 years. Loving father of Carol Kohm of Sicklerville, Kathleen Yard (Louis) of Mullica Hill, Dr. James Potter (Jennifer) of Blakeslee, PA, Thomas Potter of Collingswood, Robert Potter of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Janet Pidliskey (John) of Sicklerville; cherished grandfather of Jennifer Kohm of Raleigh, NC, Joseph Kohm of W. Collingswood Hgts, Ronald Baker of Gloucester, Jeffrey Baker of Collingswood, Kevin Pidliskey and Joseph Pidliskey of Sicklervile and James Potter of Blakeslee, PA. Also survived by his dear sister Betty Castiglia of TX and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by five loving sisters.
George was a veteran of the US Army. He was with the 33rd Coast Artillery Brigade, San Diego CA in 1942. He then went to Ft. Benning, GA as an instructor for Headquarters 1st Parachute Tag Regiments until 1946. Mr. Potter was a dedicated carpenter with Local 393 United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Gloucester City and taught the carpenter apprentices at Camden County Vocational School for many years. George always loved to go fishing on his boat in the Delaware Bay.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday morning March 31st 2011 from 9:30-11AM at Transfiguration RC Church, 445 White Horse Pike, Collingswood, NJ 08108 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment and graveside tribute Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to the church at the above address.
