George W Beadling, III

February 12, 1955 — August 22, 2023

Brooklawn

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree is the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. Life isn't about having amazing experiences. It's about making our everyday experiences, amazing. “Big” George W. Beadling, III made even the mediocre amazing. He was the life of the party who approached each day and each person with a genuinely kind heart. George was the best gift to all of us.

He prioritized his family and found an immeasurable amount of joy in being a dad and a loyal husband. When you live the present and make it so beautiful it's worth remembering. He would sing and dance… He was the life of the party. George caught happiness fishing, burned ride tickets during boardwalk day trips, and held on to a competitive edge, cheering on the Eagles and Flyers.

Oh, Superman, where are you now?

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, we were separated by death but connected by love. George died at Virtua-Lourdes Hospital with memories. Not dreams or aspirations.

“Big” George was born in Camden. He had spent his formative years in and started his family as a Gloucester neighbor. In later years he moved “a mile away” to Brooklawn. Everyone knew that distinctive mustache. George graduated from Burlington County VoTech, class of 1974, and made his career working at MAFCO in Camden, ensuring his family had all that they needed. George loved all sports, was a brief “Iggles” season ticket holder, and loved to dance! Throwin’ back some Lowenbrau, jammin’ to Genesis wasn't so bad either. Given the chance, he could easily and often became a one-man band. What truly brought him the most joy was simply, being in the company of his family and dear friends.

George is the husband and widower of his loving wife of 42 years, Angela (nee Melhuish), and was the son of the late George W. & his wife Edna (nee Visciti) Beadling, Jr. He is the father of three boys, George, IV, Brian, and Timmy, and was the proud grandfather of Audrey and George, V. George is also survived and will be sadly missed by his best friends of 30 years, Pat & Rosemary Franco. He was the brother of Charles & Bettyjane “Bbet” Beadling.

Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to gather with the Beadling family. We’ll be sharing our heartfelt stories on Saturday afternoon between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Powell St., Gloucester City where a remembrance ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm.

The time has come when I have become an afterglow of bright and sunny days. Burn what is left and scatter me. Burn my heart, but don't burn my love. Burn my feet, but not my path. Burn my voice, but not my message. If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. The time-honored tradition of reuniting those we love with nature will be held privately.
