Frederick W Brewer, Jr.

June 12, 1930 — November 17, 2021

There are times when we make history and there are times when history makes us. The goal isn’t to live forever but to leave a history that will. Then no day shall erase you from the memory of time.  Frederick W. Brewer, Jr. loved to share his family and local history with whomever would listen. He possessed an unwavering work ethic that put in a lot of hard work over a lot of years, finishing each day with a nice cold beer. Forever always seems to be around when it begins, but forever never seems to be around when it ends. On Wednesday November 17, 2021 Fred traded away his forever after 91 years. From the Cardinal Village in Sewell, we turned him over from time to eternity.

Fred was born in Woodbury, NJ and had been a longtime Audubon neighbor. By trade he was a cement mixer and spent his career working for the Teamsters, Local 676 in Collingswood where he had served as shop steward. In his spare time he would jump in the old truck and collect newspapers then old cans to recycle. At home, Fred just enjoyed the simple things… A good pair of jeans, good company and good beer, pitching horseshoes. It’s not how much we have but how much we enjoy that makes us happy.

Mr. Brewer is the widower of his late wife Jacqueline (nee Murphy) Brewer and is the father of; Jane & her husband Rusell Helmes, Sr., Frederick W., III & his wife Vikki, Thomas & his wife Pat, Bettyann & her husband Frank Epley-Cloak and Edward & his wife Mary Brewer, Sr. Fred is the proud grandfather of 14, great grandfather of 28 and great, great grandfather of 2. He was predeceased by his dear companion and friend June.
