Frank G. Pooley, Jr., age 58, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Deptford on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Frank, known affectionately by many as "Buffalo," "Big Frankie," and "Frances," was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a man with a heart as big as his nickname, always quick with a joke and ready to share a laugh with anyone in his company. His sense of humor and larger-than-life personality left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Frank was a family man through and through, and his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. He was often seen taking them out for ice cream or making stops at Burger King, always cherishing those small moments with the ones he loved most. He also enjoyed working with his hands, whether it was maintaining his home or helping others in need, and he had a special fondness for settling in to watch History Channel documentaries or his favorite holiday movies.
Born in Camden and raised in Gloucester, Frank graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1985. He later moved to Deptford, where he built his life and family. Frank had a long and dedicated career with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, working there for 30 years. He most recently served as a supervisor on the Emergency Services Patrol, where he was known for his work ethic and commitment to his team.
Frank leaves behind his loving wife, Denise (nee Hans) Pooley; his sons, Nicholas and his wife Melissa Pooley, and Ryan Pooley; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, and Madison Pooley. He is also survived by his father, Frank G. & his wife Pat Pooley, Sr.; his sister, Christine (Richard) Yip; his brother, Mark (Kate) Pooley; and his best furry friend, Riley. Frank was predeceased by his beloved mother, Sarah (nee Allen) Pooley.
While the Pooley family has chosen to share their memories privately, they are grateful for the love and support of friends and family during this difficult time.
Frank's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
