Eric Barker

Eric Barker, age 87 of Deptford, passed away at Lourdes Medical Center, Camden on Monday May 5, 2008.
Eric had faithfully defended his country during WWII in the 1st Marine Division where he fought in the battle of Guadalcanal. He had worked at Deluxe Rapid Forms and loved ballroom dancing. He will be fondly remembered for his famous, contagious laugh and many jokes. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Barker is the son of the late George & Muriel (nee Cartwright) Barker. Eric is the father of Patricia & her husband Jim Whalen of Audubon, Bruce & his wife Sandy of Cherry Hill, Rick & his wife Kim of Medford Lakes and is the loving friend of Carmela D'Alonzo of Deptford.. He is the proud Grandfather of 11, Great-Grandfather of 9 and is the brother of Harvey and Jean Martel of MI. Mr. Barker is also survived and will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Barker family to remember and pay tribute to Eric on Thursday morning between 9 and 11 am at the funeral home where a celebration of remembrance will take place at 11 am. Military & Graveside tribute will follow services at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
