Emmaline A (Tomlin) Kelley

March 10, 1941 — July 28, 2022

Gloucester City

Author Stephen King said, “Nothing was certain, there were many twists and devious turns as one hopped down the overgrown bunny trail of life.” Emmaline A. Kelley (nee Tomlin) was certainly unfiltered. She was feisty and had a great sense of humor with a big, charismatic belly laugh. “It’s strange how pain marks our faces, and makes us all look like family.” Suddenly, in the late evening of Thursday, July 28, 2022, Emmaline passed away at Cooper University Hospital in Camden at 81. Author James Patterson says, “...But remember you have to move on somehow. You just pick your head up and stare at something beautiful like the sky or the ocean…” One day we will know what it was like to love you with wonder, not grief.

Emmaline spent her entire circle of days as a Gloucester neighbor. During her early years, she loved to disco and belly dance. (yes, belly dance). She had been a member of the Gloucester City Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and had worked in sales at Allied Beverage in Mt. Laurel. At home, she loved reading her favorite authors, Stephen King and James Patterson. She even got herself into the Fifty shades books… Oh boy! She occupied her time making ceramics, playing sudoku and games on her phone. She was incomparable in the kitchen and made THE BEST chocolate chip cookies and Jewish apple cake. Emmaline, however, loved nothing more than being with and loving her grandchildren.

Mrs. Kelley leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years, Raymond Kelley. She is survived by her children; Raymond, Joseph, Emmaline Armstrong, and her daughter-in-law Michelle Cherbavaz. Emmaline is the proud grandmother of; Renee & her husband Andrew Myers, Rachel & her husband Jerome Patterson, Callan Kelley, Destiny Perez, and Shyanne Townsand. She was predeceased by her son Mark and her siblings. She is also survived and will sadly be missed by her brother Paul Tomlin.

The Kelley family has chosen to share their heartfelt stories privately. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation www.deborahfoundation.org 212 Trenton Rd. Browns Mills, NJ 08015
