Sometimes, during this life, we move lightly and as I lay me down to slumber, all I need is one more number. When, to the next game I go, I pray the Lord I yell… BINGO! Elizabeth A. Rodgers (nee Clifford) walked by faith, not by sight and filled her days with game shows, puzzle books and soap operas. She was a strong mother and wife who was happy to help anyone.
On Friday, December 10, 2021, after 85 years, Elizabeth moved to the border of heaven and earth. You know that place between awake and asleep, but where you can still remember? That’s where we’ll continue to love and miss you.
Mrs. Rodgers was born in Camden and had been a longtime Holy City neighbor. More recently, she shared her home with her daughter in Westville. She had worked as a crossing guard for Gloucester City, was a congregant of The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, a member of the Gloucester City VFW Post 3620 and had enjoyed spending time in her garden at home.
Elizabeth is the widow of her late husband William and is survived by her children; Cynthia & her husband “Big Jim” Farrell, Carl & his wife Barbara Baker and Diana & her husband Kenneth Markiewicz. She is the proud grandmother of Keith, Nicole, Jason, James, Steven, Robert, Brian, Adam and great grandmother of 20.
The Rodgers family have chosen to share their heartfelt stories privately with Creran Celebration Etherignton & Creran Funeral Homes 700 Poweel St. Gloucester City. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd. Cherry HIll, NJ 08034.
