Elizabeth May Brumm (nee Hoffman) of Ellenton, FL, formerly of Oaklyn, NJ, passed away September 16, 2016, following a brief illness.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 17, 1923, to William and Elsie Hoffman, the sixth of seven children.After graduating from Olney High School in Philadelphia in 1942, Elizabeth pursued a career as a hair stylist, eventually becoming an examiner for the PA Board of Hair Dressing. Later, she was employed by the Presbyterian Board of Pensions and Cigna.

In 1948, Elizabeth married Theodore A. Brumm, with whom she shared 52 loving years. Due to their enduring love of boating, the shore, and the sea, the familydivided their time between their home in Oaklynand their boat in Brigantine, and later, at the Atlantic City State Marina. Elizabeth was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oaklyn. She also enjoyed membership in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America (LOSNA). She also served on the board of the Atlantic City Yacht Club.

Following her husband's death in 2000, Elizabeth made her permanent residence in Ellenton, FL. There she developed a close relationship with Jack Gouldner, who remained her dear, devoted companion until her passing. In addition to their committed bond, she and Jack shared a strong interest in volunteerism, and were active in the USO, Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., Shriner's Hospital, and The Salvation Army.

In addition to her companion, Jack Gouldner, Elizabeth leaves two children to mourn her loss: Theodore A. Brumm, Jr. (Ann Kelley) of Ann Arbor, MI; and Cynthia L. Brumm (Scott Feingold) of Ashland, MA. She also leaves two grandchildren, Jennifer Brumm and Michael (Mary) Brumm;two great grandchildren; and several dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, and two brothers.

Family and friends, both the two-legged and four-legged variety, will forever treasure the memory of her warm, welcoming smile and the mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Elizabeth was an unfailingly positive, energetic, and caring individual, with a powerful love of life.She was always ready for the next adventure. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to all the dear friends who shared their life with her.

A memorial celebrating Elizabeth M. Brumm's life was held in Ellenton, FL on September 21, 2016. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at Creran Funeral Home, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn, NJ on September 28, 2016, followed by her funeral service, officiated by Rev.Jay Berry of St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM. She will be interred at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ, next to her late husband. Charitable donations may be made in Elizabeth's name to Southeastern Guide Dogs, Inc., 4210 77th St E, Palmetto, FL 34221 or a charity of one's choice.
