Eleanor Mary Schaefer

On December 17, 2016, (nee Behnke) of Lackawaxen, PA and formerly of Oaklyn, NJ, age 93. She was the beloved wife, for 61 years, of the late Edward W. Schaefer, loving mother of Patricia Pontz (the late Curt) of Blackwood, NJ and Jeffrey Schaefer (Cathy) of Lackawaxen, PA and beloved sister of the late Oscar Behnke. She is also survived by 8 dear grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Eleanor was born and raised in Barrington and she was a member of Athene Chapter #201 OES since 1960. She and husband Edward were the former owners of the Oaklyn Specialty Co., a tool and die shop in Bellmawr. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 400 WHITE HORSE PIKE, OAKLYN, NJ. Eleanor's Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers her family suggests memorial donations be made to the NJ Eastern Star Home, 111 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
