As our day began on Thursday, June 9th our tears not only fell, they crashed around us. Suddenly our beloved husband, dad, and grandfather, Edwin “Ed” M. Thomas Jr., was taken from us here on Earth. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City for the past 77 years. Ed took advice from the ocean, was shore of himself, took time to coast and saw life for its beauty. Ed was a family man with a heart of gold. Some of his most treasured moments were spent by the water fishing off his boat “Katie Marie”, watching boats go by at the Cape May canal, enjoying a nice platter at the diner, and by the pool in Clearwater FL, with his precious wife. Ed leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life of 58 years, Margaret (Peg) Thomas, and his three children, Larry (Lisa), Steve, and Peggy (Brian). He was the proud grandfather of Michael, Zachary, Carley, Kaitlin, Camryn and Cayla. Ed is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Willans and Catherine Kane. We are struggling to smile here on Earth without him but will come together to celebrate Ed’s life on Thursday, June 16th between 9:30 am and 11:30 am at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn. Following the visitation, we will share our heartfelt stories at 11:30 am with Pastor Rev. Chuck Mitchell and a graveside tribute will immediately follow at Woodbury Memorial Park.
