Donna Marie (nee Tyers), 70, gained her wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024. Born December 1st, 1953 in Philadelphia to Kenneth and Eleanor Tyers. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her mother-in-law Adelaide Bangs (Papa), and her son Kevin D. Hannum, Sr. Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband Robert. Loving mother of Charles Hannum, Joshua Hannum, and Samuel Bangs. Devoted Meme to Kevin Jr, Nathan, Gabrielle, Sara, and Lucas. She is also survived by her brother Kenneth Tyers and many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nephews, and nieces.
Donna was first and foremost a reformed evangelical Christian and longtime member and worshipper at Immanuel OPC in Bellmawr, NJ.
She loved the Philadelphia Mummers, as her father was a Mummer growing up and the band would practice in her basement as a child. She would attend or watch the Philadelphia Mummer’s parade every year, keep track of the bands, and grade them herself.
Donna was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching sports of all types, particularly Philadelphia college and professional sports teams. She loved attending Philadelphia Phillies games. Her favorite sports to watch were English Premier League, tennis, and figure skating. One of her favorite Olympic events was curling.
She was an amateur birdwatcher and enjoyed viewing and photographing birds at the Edmond Forsythe Wildlife Preserve and Cape May Lighthouse State Park. Donna was an avid New Jersey lighthouse fan and would often visit lights in other states as well. She spent time working crossword puzzles, word searches, games on her Kindle, and re-runs of her favorite shows. She hated wearing socks.
A Homecoming Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at Immanuel OPC on Park Drive and Market Street in Bellmawr NJ. Visitation with the family will be at 10am with a memorial service following at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be be made to Everyday Hope, a charity organization that donate baskets to nurses and care packages to patients full of every day, unthought-of items to make the time hospitalized more enjoyable. Checks can be made out to WCASD with Everyday Hope written in the memo line and mailed to 158 Freedom River Trail, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Donations can also be given to the family who will pass it on to Everyday Hope in Donna’s memory
