Dolores D. Vandever (nee Dauer), age 93 of Haddon Twp., passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2009 at Vitas Hospice in Stratford.
Mrs. Vandever was born in Baltimore, MD and had been longtime Audubon resident before moving to Haddon Twp. Dolores had been a doting mother and homemaker. She was member of the Audubon Women's Club and the Our Lady of Lourdes Auxiliary. She loved quilting and had been a member of a quilting group and knitted Afghans for the Ronald McDonald House. Mrs. Vandever was a devoted Parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Haddon Heights and volunteered her time at the St. Rose food pantry.
Dolores is the wife of the late Frank D. Vandever and is survived by her daughters Katherine & her husband Stephen Hilbert and Mary & her husband Myron Opfermann. She is the proud grandmother of Christine (Mike) Chandler, Michelle (Travis) Rachels, Billy Opfermann and great grandmother of Allyson Rachels, Stephen Chandler, Scott Rachels and Ryan Chandler. Mrs. Vandever is also survived by her sister Geraldine Henry.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Vandever family to remember and pay tribute to Dolores on Friday morning between 8:30 and 10:30 am at the funeral home. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Holy Maternity Church 431 Nicholson Rd., Audubon. Interment and graveside tribute will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
