David A. Donahue

September 3, 1943 — January 14, 2019

David A. Donahue of Souderton, formerly of New Britain Borough went to be with our Lord on Monday, January 14, 2019. He was 75. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Judith V. Donahue [Mayer] his parents James Donahue Sr. and Agnes M. Donahue (Wiley), his brother, James Donahue Jr. and his nephew Charles Donahue. He is survived by his adoring daughters Debbie D. Gillespie [Bill], Cheryl McWade[David Fritts], Pamela Tur [Michael] and Kelly Donahue. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Maggie Mae McWade, Michael David Tur, Will Gillespie, Grace Gillespie and Matthew James Tur. His dear sister Jane Creran as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive him.

With all of Dave's accomplishments his greatest pride came from being a father and a grandfather. As busy as his life could be, he always took the time to participate in his daughters' endeavors. He was an active member of the band parents association for Central Bucks West High School and a beloved softball coach for Lenape Valley. Dave worked for 57 years in the automotive industry and took great pride in sharing his knowledge with others. Dave served his community in many capacities from volunteering with the Jaycees to serving New Britain Borough for 30 years, first as a councilman then as Borough President. He was a dedicated member of St. Jude Church in Chalfont, PA. Anyone who knew him knows that rain; sleet or snow Dave always had his golf clubs ready. But, his greatest passion was being a Pop-Pop to his 5 beautiful grandchildren. He always looked forward to the moments that they shared. His presence made the world a better place. Dave will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
