Born in the Bronx, a place that his heart never left, to Howard R. Clark, a photo editor for The New York Daily News, and Mary C. (Corr) Clark, a travel agent, Dan and his four brothers grew up in Sayreville, NJ. Dan had an active childhood. Being the second of four brothers certainly helped, but Dan's curiosity and sense of adventure were evident from an early age. He loved to play outdoors, ride bikes, and tussle with his king standard poodle Napoleon (Nappy). Dan's quick thinking and enjoyment of challenges, along with his caring nature, led him to the first aid squad and a career in healthcare. He worked in the respiratory departments at a number of large New Jersey hospitals, including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, Atlantic City Medical Center, and Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ. Whether he was a respiratory therapist, supervisor, or director, he always took his work seriously. Outside of work, Dan was a caring family and church man. He was often found carefully overseeing his family's home, planning family vacations, telling vivid stories of his younger days, or playing pool and board games with everyone. He loved his wife, Jodi, and son, Ty, deeply and well. He loved his churches deeply and well too, and taught adult Sunday School classes for over 15 years. Dan's love for others came from his love for his Savior, whom he served throughout his life. As the ALS weakened Dan's body, his character and love stayed unshakable. He grew sweeter even as he grew more dependent. His grace throughout the lengthy trial was a marvel and blessing to many. Dan is survived by his wife Jodi (nee Hunt); his son Ty; his mother Mary; his brothers Howard, Doug, and Tim; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to meet on Wednesday, December 30, from 6:00 - 8:00pm and again Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:00am at Immanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Park Drive and Market Street, Bellmawr, NJ.
