On October 14, 2018, of Gloucester City, NJ, age 88. He was predeceased by his wife Edith (nee Thacklinburg), his mother Clara Matthews, his sister, Clara Rundus and brother, Franklin Matthews. He is survived by his children Steven Matthews, Sheryl Boccaleri, Debra Herbert and 3 sisters, Edith Cain, Dorothy Bosch and Sara Lavecchio. Mr. Matthews was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and worked for PSE&G in Audubon for 37 years. Relatives and friends are invited to meet Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to Logan Memorial Presbyterian Church, 18 W. Merchant St., Audubon, NJ 08106.
