Catherine “Cassie” V. (née O’Malley) Shinn peacefully passed away on 5/23/23 at 70 years old in Atlantic City, NJ. Cassie was a doting wife, mother, sister, and friend known for her charisma and deep devotion to taking care of others. She loved spending time with her family, bragging about her grandchildren, and being creative.
Cassie was born in Philadelphia, PA, and spent her formative years there. She raised her family in Oaklyn, NJ, and spent her later days in Egg Harbor City. Cassie was a lifelong mom and closed out her career working as an administrative assistant for the NJ Carpenters Apprentice Training Center in Hammonton. Cassie enjoyed art; decorating her house; a weekly movie night with her cherished friend, Anne; and hosting parties in her backyard.
Cassie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Stanley “Chip” Shinn. She was the devoted mother of Jeff Bell (Tom Skipper), Chris Bell (Kate Carr), and Kelsey Shinn (Ryan Bauer). Cassie was the proud grandmother of Tyler Bell, Connor Bell, Charlotte “Charlie” Carr-Bell, Maxwell Carr-Bell, and Ryan “RJ” Bauer. She was a beloved sibling to Tom “Tucker” O’Malley, Geri Spencer (Frank Spencer), Mary Weikel (Fran Weikel), and Tim O’Malley (Donna O’Malley), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
We will come together in friendship on Tuesday 5/30/23 from 10am-12pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes, 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn, NJ.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal.” (Found on a tombstone in Ireland.)
