Benjamin Louis Lumb, age 87, of Woodstown, NJ, (formerly of Wilmington, DE) went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia A. Lumb (nee Hughes) and his granddaughter Patricia F. Carr. He is survived by his daughter Heather A. Simione, great granddaughter Brooke Tyborowski and much loved family furbaby Buster with whom he lived. He is also survived by his daughter Robin E. Lumb, grandson Timothy A. Carr and great grandchildren Collin Carr, Jayden Carr and Timothy Carr, all of whom reside in Wilmington, DE and great grandson Christopher Rolosky who resides in Maryland. A special mention of appreciation to his caregivers Cindy Plummer and Elizabeth Koehrerr. Thank you for bringing joy into his life. Mr. Lumb was a Navy Veteran of WWII and past Commander and President of Browntown VFW Post in Wilmington, DE. He was a retired Supervisor of Parks and Recreation for the City of Wilmington. He previously owned a landscaping business and had worked for a electric hose & rubber company. Mr. Lumb was also a member of the Polish Library Assoc. in Hedgeville. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at Woodstown Friends Meeting House, North Main St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers his family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the ETHERINGTON-CRERAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 POWELL ST., GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ 08030.
