Barbara Focht (nee Miller) had a quick wit and biting sense of humor. No matter the pool or the ocean, she loved the water. Her best days were warm afternoons on the golf course. However her best naps were on the beach with a stunningly loud snore. On Thursday, April 7, 2022, Barbara passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Barbara joins her loving parents Francis and Anne Miller.
Barbara was born in Camden and had been a lifelong Oaklyn neighbor. Quite the gourmet actually and had made incomparable Halloween costumes that would endure for generations. She was a naturally gifted artist and enjoyed oil and acrylic painting as well as drawing. She was an avid golfer and tennis player competing in singles and couples matches alongside her husband. During her early years, she worked at PSFS in mortgages and worked at home raising her family during her children’s formative years. As they grew she returned to school, got her real estate license, and subsequently worked as a dental hygienist. However, she loved nothing more than being Nanny to Bianca Rose.
Mrs. Focht leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Bob Focht. She is the mother of Michael Focht, Christine Focht and mother in law to Nick Delgozzo. Barbara is the proud grandmother of Bianca Rose and is also survived and will be sadly missed by her sister, Jean Huggins, her niece Melissa Huggins.
Relatives, friends, and neighbors are invited to come together in tribute and thanksgiving with the Focht family. We’ll be laughing about the beach stories, talking about golf and the Masters, and sharing our heartfelt stories on Tuesday morning between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm at Creran Celebration Etherington & Creran Funeral Homes 400 White Horse Pike, Oaklyn where a remembrance ceremony will be celebrated at 12:00 pm.
